Catseye Response Medical Services was proud to provide medical cover for a special event marking the centenary of Sir Henry Segrave’s historic land speed record at Ainsdale Beach, Southport.
On 16 March 1926, British racing driver Sir Henry Segrave set a groundbreaking land speed record of 152.33 mph (245.15 km/h) on Ainsdale Beach. Driving Ladybird, a 4-litre Sunbeam Tiger, Segrave achieved one of the most significant early milestones in British motorsport history and helped establish the UK as a centre of speed record innovation.
The centenary celebration at Ainsdale Beach brought together motorsport enthusiasts, historic vehicle supporters, and visitors with a shared interest in Britain’s rich engineering and racing heritage. It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the pioneering drivers and machines that pushed the boundaries of speed in the early 20th century.
